About Wildlife Clubs Of Seychelles
WCS is a non-governmental organization established in 1994 to engage children and youth in conservation action. WCS currently has clubs in almost all schools in Seychelles and some 600+ members.  Activities undertaken by our clubs include field trips to learn more about wildlife and ecosystems, adopting habitats, helping to green schools, doing clean ups, planting trees and heritage gardens, removing invasive creepers, engaging community members through surveys, etc. We work in close collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Energy, schools, other environmental NGOs, and other groups from churches, scouts and districts. Our headquarters are at the University of Seychelles Centre for Environmental Education (UCEE) where we offer environmental education programmes to children, youth, University of Seychelles students, and the community.

Our Objectives:

  • To increase young people's knowledge of Seychelles’ biodiversity and mobilise action for conservation.
  • Identify and take action to solve environmental problems in Seychelles
  • Develop programmes (activities, events and publications) that focus on the natural world.
  • Provide resources for school clubs and their leaders.
  • Improve capacity for club leaders to undertake successful programmes and activities.

Our Board

WCS is run by a committed volunteer board of directors, and one club coordinator, who is based at the UCEE.
